As always, it was excellent, just great. The staff is friendly, nice and very accommodating, I would give 10 ⭐ for everything.

I have never eaten such a delicious steak. A dream. The side dishes and the starter were also a taste explosion. I missed the music a bit about the ambience. One fell into whispering so as not to disturb other visitors or to talk undisturbed. Otherwise I can absolutely recommend Il Mulino. The service was courteous and friendly. The high price is adapted to the high quality food. Compliments to the kitchen.

A wonderful experience !!! Great and very friendly service, attentive and quick! The food was delicious, both the pizza and the fresh pasta. The grilled salmon was excellent too !!! You feel like you are on vacation in Italy!

I found the inside of the restaurant to be very well designed, the staff were also attentive and even took special requests for the small children. Can only recommend it and will be back :-)

Best ever

Great cozy restaurant with a friendly and experienced staff. The menu offers many vegetarian and pescaterian dishes, all delicious and of high quality. The wine card is rather exclusive ($) but has some nice wines in it. You have the choice between an authentic Italien cave-style restaurant inside and casual "Sundowner" tables outside. Covid-19 rules are followed more or less strictly here. All in all a nice place with good food for somewhat special occasion dinners or business lunches, without the need for bow-tie-fancyness.

We had reserved a table for eleven people, five of whom were children. The food was very good, as was the service. The pizzas are very big for small children. I found the prices appropriate for the quality offered. Next time, I'm guaranteed to ask for a sharp knife to cut the pizza; with the normal knife it was hard work!

An Italian restaurant, not a pizzeria. There are also pizzas (which are very good), but the IL Mulino serves the Italian cuisine, which is beyond the "pizza standard". Good Italian cuisine with lots of meat and fish dishes, a good selection of starters and delicious dessert. Good quality justifies the slightly elevated price level. My absolute recommendation!

Very tasty, the staff was not so interested in serving us. It took at least 20 minutes until we could order something after the meal and was not cleared away. Then the portions are still relatively small. So plan your starter and dessert. ?

Atmosphere: All the waiters are particularly enthusiastic and talkative, and the Italian style is strong. Pasta with cuttlefish sauce: extra added olive oil and millet, the flavor is more prominent, and the softness and hardness of the noodles are well mastered. Four Seasons Pizza: It should be one of the hottest pizzas in the store. I saw a lot of tables and ordered them. I voted with a knife and fork. This pizza is very fragrant. The sauce inside is a bit unique and the amount is very affordable.

I was here almost exactly 16 years ago. Nothing has changed. Still delicious, friendly with a great day pass. I think the equipment with old wood and crooked posts and beams wonderful. We recommend.

Best Italian restaurant in Essen. 3rd year in a row and they were the best each year. I had "fegato", lasagna, pasta fish and deserts. All good and good quality and decent price. The staff is very friendly and service was good! I'll definitely come back. Grazie!

Nice place

Diabolical. Plush look about the place disguises its appalling cost cutting food. Prawns straight out of the freezer on a dreadful salad, no dressing. Not even washed so still salty. €13! Table olive oil cheap cooking type. Lasagna vile. Best described as greasy gravy made with Very cheap mince (had to keep picking chewy fat bits out of my teeth). Service bizarre. Offered parmesan on my prawns but not my lasagna and waited an age for another beer. Find another Italian. I'm not recommending any but any will be better than this place.

An Italian pearl !!! The best spontaneous decision we could make this evening! If you expect the usual dishes of an Italian restaurant, you will not find them - luckily. We were there with our three children and experienced a first class care. Rarely has anyone been so sensitive to typically indecisive children. From the dishes you could taste the pure passion and love for the product ... we were culinary in the seventh heaven. Conclusion: food terrific, service exemplary, establishment very comfortable. Any time ;-)

The worst lasagne ever!

Very good restaurant. Roberto service 5+. Food as expected. Many extras if you are willing to pay more. Good English. Choice of wines very good. Pricey but worthy. In any case do not enter if you're planning to spend less money.

I never eat italian food outside of italy but my colleagues wanted to try so that I give it go. I have to say it was very positive surpise and we came next day again. Small piece of Italy in Dusseldorf.

They have a big wheel of parmazan cheese and they twirl your spaghetti in it! Great staff, good food.

Quality of the food is up to what you would expect in a very good restaurant. Atmosphere and Staff are great, caring but also staying back when you need it. Would definitely recommend for a nice evening with your loved one :). Price is very reasonable for the standing.

Good balie tot money, best friendly family-like service, best good food

I thoroughly enjoyed the dinner. The service was (mostly) professional, the atmosphere was cozy yet not too stiff, and the food was fresh, simple and delicious. The quality to price ratio was just alright. I did just rate it 4/5 stars due to to the fact that none of the waiters was able (or had the will) to describe some of the wines in their wine list.

Excellent Food

Very nice place located near the center of Essen. The owner didn't give me a good impression but the staff seemed very nice. Food ... really bad ... we tried some pizzas and they weren't good at all ... let's say it takes courage to call it Italian pizza and even the desserts weren't very good I would say. Finally we paid too much according to the average cost of a pizza. I would not go there again.
